Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football in England. Established in 1992, it operates as a league competition for 20 teams, with clubs competing against each other in a round-robin format over the course of a season. The Premier League is known for its high level of competition, significant financial investment, and wide global audience. Teams accumulate points based on match outcomes—three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the champion. The league also features a system of relegation and promotion with the lower divisions of English football, meaning the bottom teams may be relegated to the EFL Championship, while top teams from that division can be promoted to the Premier League. The Premier League is widely regarded as one of the most popular and competitive football leagues in the world.
