Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and influence one’s own emotions and the emotions of others. It involves skills such as emotional awareness, empathy, emotional regulation, and interpersonal communication. Individuals with high emotional intelligence can effectively navigate social complexities, resolve conflicts, and build strong relationships. EI is often broken down into four core competencies: self-awareness, which is the ability to recognize one’s own emotions; self-management, the ability to manage one’s emotions and behaviors; social awareness, the capacity to empathize and understand the emotional dynamics of others; and relationship management, which involves interacting positively and productively with others. Emotional intelligence has been linked to various aspects of life, including personal well-being, professional success, and effective leadership.
